Parallel gate valve

平行闸板阀is a sliding valve with a parallel gate as the closing element. The closing component can be a single gate or a double gate with a support mechanism in between. The clamping force of the gate to the cast steel valve seat is controlled by the medium pressure acting on the floating gate or floating valve seat. If it is a double gate parallel gate valve, the expansion mechanism between the two gate plates can supplement this clamping force. The parallel gate valve has a flange and is connected to the pipeline using a flange connection.
Parallel gate valves can be divided into three types based on their purpose and usage: parallel gate valves with diversion holes, parallel gate valves without diversion holes, parallel gate valves for gas, parallel gate valves for pipelines, and parallel gate valves for oil fields. According to the driving mode, it can be divided into manual parallel gate valve, pneumatic parallel gate valve, and electric parallel gate valve.

1、 Classification and structural characteristics
The sealing surface of the parallel single gate valve is parallel, and the sealing surface of the valve seat is perpendicular to the pipeline, relying on a soft valve seat (such as rubber) to achieve forced sealing.
Suitable for medium and low pressure large-diameter pipelines (such as oil and natural gas), with low fluid resistance, but the sealing surface is prone to wear.
Parallel double gate valves (including ceramic double gate valves) use two parallel gate plates, which are designed with spring preload or track bars to ensure sealing.
Innovative designs such as blowing mechanisms (to prevent impurity wear) or inlet sealing structures (to separate the sealing sleeve from the relief valve plate) significantly improve lifespan and reliability.
Ceramic material gate is suitable for high wear media such as dry powder and ash residue, with strong wear resistance.
2、 Working principle
When opening and closing, the valve stem drives the gate to rise and fall vertically: when fully open, the fluid channel is unobstructed, and when fully closed, the gate and valve seat sealing surface are in contact to cut off the medium.
The double gate valve uses spring force to make the gate tightly adhere to the valve seat, avoiding eddy current erosion caused by partial opening.
