Medium pressure gate valve

1、 Definition and Classification
A medium pressure gate valve is a fully open and fully closed valve with a working pressure range of 1.6MPa to 4.0MPa. Its gate movement direction is perpendicular to the fluid and cannot be used to regulate flow.
Configure according to the sealing surface:
Wedge gate type (single gate, double gate, elastic gate)
Parallel gate type (single gate, double gate)
According to the position of the valve stem thread: rising stem gate valve (lifting rod) and hidden stem gate valve (rotating rod).
2、 Working principle and characteristics
Sealing method:
Self sealing: relies on the pressure of the medium to press the gate and valve seat (suitable for low pressure).
Forced sealing: external force is required to press the gate (commonly used for medium and high pressure).
Operation characteristics:
Low flow resistance, easy to open and close (compared to globe valves).
When fully open, the gate plate needs to be lifted to a height of 1:1 diameter, with the actual valve stem vertex as the marker.
3、 Typical application scenarios
Industrial pipelines: medium voltage systems for oil, natural gas, chemical, power, and other industries.
Special requirements:
High temperature and high pressure gate valves for power stations (as per API standards).
Sulfur resistant valve, flat gate valve (suitable for natural gas long-distance pipelines).
